Ecco cosa ho scoperto, e cosa avrei voluto che qualcuno mi dicesse 3 cinturini fa.
Negli ultimi 18 mesi ho consumato 3 cinturini in cantiere. Un Garmin Fenix 7 (il cinturino si è strappato su un tondino di ferro), un Casio Pro Trek (il cinturino in resina si è spezzato col freddo) e il cinturino in silicone economico che ho provato come ripiego e che è durato circa 6 settimane. In tutto ho speso circa 1.300 € in orologi e cinturini di ricambio finiti in un cassetto.
Sono tutti in un cassetto.
Il più economico che ho provato, il Gard Pro Ultra 3 da 119,99 €, è ancora al mio polso. Stesso cinturino. Stesso orologio. Ecco esattamente cosa ha fatto la differenza.
Il cinturino dell'Ultra 3 è in silicone rinforzato con fibbia a perno metallico. 7 mesi dopo non c'è un solo strappo.
L'ho impigliato nei ganci del ponteggio, trascinato nel cemento fresco e sciacquato sotto il rubinetto a fine giornata. Sembra ancora il giorno in cui l'ho tolto dalla scatola. E se mai dovesse cedere, GardCare+ copre la sostituzione del cinturino.
Ogni orologio 'rugged' dichiara di essere 'resistente'. La maggior parte non è stata testata contro niente di preciso. Appiccicano solo la parola sulla scatola.
L'Ultra 3 è certificato MIL-STD-810H, lo stesso protocollo di test che l'esercito americano usa per l'equipaggiamento sul campo. 29 distinti test di robustezza: cadute, urti, vibrazioni, polvere, umidità, temperature sotto zero, nebbia salina, tutto quanto. È l'unica specifica sulla scatola che significa qualcosa in cantiere.
Il mio Garmin era al 20% mercoledì a pranzo. Mezza settimana mi dimenticavo di caricarlo e si spegneva proprio al polso.
L'Ultra 3 dura più di una settimana con una sola carica con un uso normale. Fino a 90 giorni in modalità risparmio energetico. Lo metto in carica la domenica mattina mentre prendo un caffè. Per il resto della settimana non ci penso più.
In cantiere non mi servono 47 app. Mi serve l'ora, la data, un cronometro quando cronometro una gettata di cemento, le chiamate dal polso quando il telefono è sepolto nel furgone e la frequenza cardiaca quando salgo e scendo dalla scala tutto il giorno.
L'Ultra 3 fa tutto questo, più SpO₂, sonno e stress. Nessuna diagnosi medica, solo un controllo quotidiano di cosa succede. Il GPS a doppia banda è anche un bel bonus, ho tracciato un'escursione nel weekend ed era preciso come il mio vecchio Garmin.
Non sono un tipo da app. L'ultima configurazione mi ha preso mezz'ora e ho comunque finito per cercare su Google perché le notifiche non arrivavano.
Scarica l'app GARD PRO FIT, scansiona il codice QR, rispondi a qualche domanda veloce, fatto. Nessun abbonamento, nessun upsell Premium. Le notifiche sono arrivate subito. La frequenza cardiaca veniva rilevata prima ancora che uscissi dalla cucina.
Uno smartwatch da 120 €, pensavo che se qualcosa fosse andato storto sarei stato da solo. Mandare una mail nel vuoto e non ricevere mai risposta.
Ho scritto una domenica pomeriggio. Risposta entro un'ora. Persona vera, risposta vera. Trustpilot li dà a 4,4 stelle con oltre 8.000+ recensioni. Ho verificato.
Senti, ho avuto un Fenix 7. Era un gran bell'orologio. Finché il cinturino non ha ceduto e ho capito di aver speso 699 € per una cosa che, alla fine, aveva un punto debole nel cinturino come tutto il resto.
Specifica per specifica su ciò che conta davvero in cantiere, l'Ultra 3 tiene benissimo testa. Stessa classe di batteria. Stesso GPS. Stesso grado di robustezza. Una frazione del prezzo.

The watch is great when comparing it to the Apple ultra top spec which I still use. The Gardpro is literally plug and play, battery life is amazing, highly recommend it for those looking for a time piece that pretty much covers everything a smart watch should. Subtle difference in the calorie measurement though, seems to tally less than the Apple does. Suppose it could be down to settings and config etc… either way great product. Need more watch faces to choose from..

I bought this watch for my wife because I was so impressed with my own. My wife has several medical issues that require her to monitor her BP, heart rate and body temperature at regular intervals. She has also started trying to increase the number of steps a day to help herself. The Gardpro can do all of this and more for a very competitive price. Highly recommend.
This watch is for my teenage son and he loves it. He says it has long battery life. He checks his text messages, measures his workouts and progress, and says it fits well. Delivery took a little longer than I was expecting but that wasn't a big deal.
The watch is of a very good build quality, it looks sleek and premium. Super easy to set up and the battery (so far) is amazing as I have not had to charge it yet and it's been nearly three weeks! I would certainly recommend as I personally can't justify the prices of the 'branded' smart watches but with this one you dont need to. Loads of features and all working well. Great purchase and a reassuring guarantee from the company.

I bought a Samsung Smart watch 1st and was so disappointed with the short battery life for the price so got my money back and bought a Ultra 3 and have been amazed with the battery life. All of the functions I wanted in a smart watch work great along with the app so really pleased with the watch and would very much recommend.
