Cercavo uno sportwatch e sono finito con un foglio di calcolo.
Garmin Forerunner 265 a 499 €. Apple Watch Ultra 3 a 899 €. Polar Vantage V3, Suunto Race, Coros Apex 2. Avevo un budget di circa 500 € e cercavo di capire quale valesse davvero la pena.
Poi mi è caduto l'occhio su uno smartwatch di cui non avevo mai sentito parlare, con specifiche che sembravano un errore di battitura. 5 sensori. GPS a doppia frequenza L1+L5. MIL-STD-810H. Fino a 7 giorni di autonomia a 119,99 €.
Ho ordinato il Gard Pro Ultra 3 aspettandomi di trovare la fregatura.
Non c'era. È al mio polso da 4 mesi. Il foglio di calcolo è chiuso dalla settimana 2.
Sulla carta il Forerunner 265 dura circa 13 giorni in modalità smartwatch. Il mio ne faceva 9 quando andava bene. L'Apple Ultra 3 nella pratica fa ~42 ore, quindi finiva ogni notte sul caricatore.
L'Ultra 3 dura più di una settimana con una sola carica con un uso normale. In modalità risparmio energetico arrivi fino a 90 giorni. Lo carico la domenica mattina mentre preparo il caffè e non ci penso più per il resto della settimana.
"Rugged" lo appiccicano a ogni sportwatch, anche a quelli che si rompono se li guardi storto. MIL-STD-810H è diverso. È uno standard di test del Dipartimento della Difesa degli Stati Uniti. 29 test definiti. Freddo, caldo, polvere, pioggia, vibrazioni, cadute, tutto quanto.
L'Apple Ultra 3 non ce l'ha. Il Forerunner 265 nemmeno. L'Ultra 3 sì. Dopo una giornata di lavoro, lo sciacquo semplicemente con la canna dell'acqua del giardino.
Le specifiche in breve: accelerometro, giroscopio, bussola, barometro, frequenza cardiaca, SpO₂, andamento della pressione, frequenza respiratoria, luce ambientale e GPS a doppia frequenza L1+L5. È la stessa configurazione GPS del Forerunner 965. Il 965 costa 649 €.
Il resto è quello che ti aspetti: frequenza cardiaca, sonno, stress. Nessuna diagnosi medica, solo un controllo del benessere quotidiano di cosa succede nel tuo corpo.
Questo non era nel mio foglio di calcolo, ma alla fine ha contato. La prima settimana, un collega mi ha chiesto se fosse il nuovo Garmin. Quando gli ho detto quanto avevo pagato, ha pensato che scherzassi.
Al polso sembra uno sportwatch da 500 €. Ghiera spazzolata, display AMOLED da 1,43" a 1000 nit, abbastanza luminoso da leggersi in pieno sole.
Scarica l'app GARD PRO FIT, scansiona il codice QR, rispondi a quattro domande, fatto. Nessuna base di ricarica proprietaria, nessun purgatorio di aggiornamenti firmware, nessun account obbligatorio.
Si collega da subito a Strava, Apple Health e Google Fit. L'app è gratuita, senza abbonamento. Dopo anni di notifiche Fitbit Premium, è davvero una boccata d'aria.

Gard Pro ha sede nei Paesi Bassi. 8.000+ recensioni Trustpilot con 4,4 stelle. Ho inviato una domanda tramite il loro modulo di assistenza un martedì alle 22:47 (giusto per metterli alla prova) e ho ricevuto una risposta in 14 minuti. Nessun chatbot. Una persona vera, con un nome.
L'Apple Watch Ultra 3 costa 899 €. Il Garmin Forerunner 265 costa 499 €. Ho messo i tre fianco a fianco in un foglio di calcolo e ho guardato ogni specifica che conta davvero nell'uso quotidiano.

The watch is great when comparing it to the Apple ultra top spec which I still use. The Gardpro is literally plug and play, battery life is amazing, highly recommend it for those looking for a time piece that pretty much covers everything a smart watch should. Subtle difference in the calorie measurement though, seems to tally less than the Apple does. Suppose it could be down to settings and config etc… either way great product. Need more watch faces to choose from..

I bought this watch for my wife because I was so impressed with my own. My wife has several medical issues that require her to monitor her BP, heart rate and body temperature at regular intervals. She has also started trying to increase the number of steps a day to help herself. The Gardpro can do all of this and more for a very competitive price. Highly recommend.
This watch is for my teenage son and he loves it. He says it has long battery life. He checks his text messages, measures his workouts and progress, and says it fits well. Delivery took a little longer than I was expecting but that wasn't a big deal.
The watch is of a very good build quality, it looks sleek and premium. Super easy to set up and the battery (so far) is amazing as I have not had to charge it yet and it's been nearly three weeks! I would certainly recommend as I personally can't justify the prices of the 'branded' smart watches but with this one you dont need to. Loads of features and all working well. I bought a Samsung Smart watch 1st and was so disappointed with the short battery life for the price so got my money back and bought a Ultra 3 and have been amazed with the battery life.
